Call Out for Communications Committee and Political Action Committee

We are seeking members to join the Communications and Political Action committees.

Communications Committee

For now, the main focus of the communication committee will be to prepare and organize material for orientation. Including department presentations, the local's handbook, and designing and ordering promotional materials.

As the year progresses, the committee will also be working to help promote the Postdocs during their bargaining (starting in September).

Political Action Committee

The Political Action Committee will be working with local labour groups to combat provincial labour cuts, including cuts against the academic sector. They will also be working with SOGS, to help deal with the incoming student choice initiative.

We will also be working on promoting the up coming federal elections. Mobilizing members to vote, and working on promoting labour friendly policies.

Lastly, as the year picks up, we will also be working with postdocs to help with bargaining.
